NEXT MEETING IS ON THE 14TH FEBRUARY

Tuesday 14TH February sees the next meeting of Sadcase back at its usual haunt The Crown Inn, Cootham. 7.30 on.

Here's one for the diary. Sunday April 22nd is this years National Drive it Day. Designed to get classic cars out of the garage and on to the roads earlier in the year it has become a great annual event. Sadcase will be organising a road run that will leave from the Storrington Library car park and travel via the country roads to the beautiful Rofant House near Turners Hill where we will be greeted, entertained and feed (a small charge I presume) by the Midget and Sprite Club. A lot of other clubs will be organising runs that day that will end at Rofant House as well. So a full turnout should make for a great day out. Further details as and when I have them.

SADCASE PIT STOP PARTY HAS BEEN AND GONE!!!!!! SEE REPORT ON SEPERATE PIT STOP PAGE. IT WAS GOOD!!!!!!!

June 23rd sees the Storrington Village Day held at the recreation ground again. In 2010 Sadcase was featured at the show and in 2011 we were the major attraction with well over 100 cars on display. Well we want 2012 to be even better so put the date in your diary and keep that day clear. The first thing we need to do is to get the event team in to place and the marshalls are as always essential. So we need a few volunteers to put on a high vis jacket for an hour or so to usher the classic cars in to place on arrival. All it means is that you arrive and park your classic in the field an hour before everyone else arrives and then direct the new arrivals to their slot. Easy job but vital. Please help us to put the show on by contacting Chris Mason on 01903 743304 or mason662@btinternet.com to offer your services.

Hello! My name is Janine Maxwell and I am a Primary School teacher at Edward Bryant Primary School in Bognor Regis. Last year we held a 'Move It!' morning at our school where the children studied different makes, models, purposes and ages of various vehicles. Last year Martin and Jan Fairbrother kindly brought their fabulous MGA Roadster for the children to examine and I am hoping that we can can build on last years success by having even more variety for the children.
The 'Move It!' morning is Wednesday 14 March 2012 and will be held at Edward Bryant Primary School in Bognor Regis. The school postcode is PO21 1BG and the school phone number is 01243 822 454. We would greatly appreciate a mention on your website as you did last year to alert your members to our special day.
Thanks for your support! Regards, Janine
jmaxwell11@wsgfl.org.uk  Can anyone help with this worthwhile project. Please give Janine a call if you can help.

When I send out e-mails to members I always get a few bounce back saying wrong address or address unknown etc. If you are reading this but not receiving e-mails with updates on club events etc. then I must have the wrong e-mail address for you. Please let me know the correct address if this is the case with you.

Lots of ideas are sent to me by members for trips an excursions for Sadcase and this is where I need members help. If you would like to do a trip of some type then by all means get involved and organise it. No need to ask for permission. It is your club not mine so just go ahead and organise it. I will put all the details on the website to muster support and mention it at the meetings. Go on I dare you! Plan a Sadcase day out and take all the praise.

Where and When Do We Meet.

I will attempt to arrange  SADCASE meetings at pubs in the Storrington / Washington / Ashington / Pulborough / Amberley area. I will put the details on here and leave it up to you guys to spread the word. All sadcases and petrolheads are welcome,  members or not. Why not come along and have a chat with some like minded people. Just come along on your own if you wish or bring your Car, Bike, Bus, Lorry, Wife, Dog, other half, or any combination

SADCASE JANUARY MEETING.

Well you never cease to amaze me. A great turn out in January with the pub packed out with Sadcases. We even had some classics in the car park with an Jaguar XK, Ford Capri and Lotus Esprit amongst them. Everyone is looking forward to the Sadcase party on the 21st at the Avisford Hilton Hotel with over 100 of us (most in fancy dress) enjoying the night. The raffle was a good one this month with another £50 raised. Please keep bringing along an unwanted car related item.It seems someone always wants them. Next months meeting falls on St. Valentines day so our numbers may be depleted by all you romantics going out (or staying in!) for the evening with your partners. But still hope to see a fair turnout at the Crown.

 SENNA THE MOVIE:

The film about Ayton Senna got great reviews when released last year. Now we can see it together at Sullington Parish Hall on Wed 8th February (7.00 for 7.30) The film is being shown by the Rotary Club of Storrington and it helps raise funds for the charity. Tickets are only £5 and can be purchased in advance from Sadcase members Tony Vaughan on 01903 740633 or Terry Grange on 01903 743144 or from the Card Centre in Storrington High Street. Lets try and have a good Sadcase turnout. A cash bar and refreshments will available during the interval.

ITS AMAZING 269 MEMBERS !!!!

Yes it's true just 2 years after the formation of SADCASE we have our 250th member. The club started on the 1st of November 2009 and on the 1st of November 2011 exactly 2 years from start up I received the 250th membership application. Keep spreading the word and maybe we will have 300 members by the 3rd anniversary.

Member Andy Lawrence has an MGB for sale. Please take a look at the For Sale page.

Member Terry Grange sent me the following:  I was invited to sign this email petition by the Stag Owners Club, with regard to bringing back the rolling 30 year old classic car road tax exemption. I thought the website might be of interest to the SADCASE members http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/183

Bognor Regis Motor Club invites any Sadcase members wishing to enter 12 car navigational rallies or other events. Temp memberships are available per event so keep an eye on their web site diary for updates, or pop along to the George at Eartham for a natter on 1st thurs of the month to meet some of the BRMC members
www.bognor-regis-mc.co.uk

Sadcase member Nigel Edwards has recently had his Lotus set up on a local rolling road and has sent me a glowing report. Austec racing rolling road is near Gatwick and has a state of the art rolling road with well trained technicians. For a very reasonable price they will do some power runs on your car and then set the vehicle up properly to maximise both power and smooth running. Check out their website for details. www.austecracing.com They will even do a special club day so anyone interested in organising one just let me know.

Member Ollie Jupp has taken the plunge and started his own garage. OJ's Motor Services is a fully equiped garage based in Storrington and can offer Servicing, Repairs, Welding, MOT's, Diagnostics, Tuning, Tyres, Sales and Recovery. Free local collection and delivery is offered and courtesy cars are available. Ollie is a VOSA mot tester and a qualified mechanic. Very competative rates and a 10% discount for fellow SADCASE members is on offer. For a free no obligation quote call Ollie on 07725 476589.

A BIT OF A MOAN!! As you all know I like to think of Sadcase as your club and is not a club run by a committee. But all clubs need people to step forward occasionally to organise things. Meredith organised the Xmas party with help from Jim and a few others, David Wright organised the talk on model cars and the quiz night (thanks guys) and I do the day to day stuff and website. BUT we need your help! Sadcase needs more organised events and trips and this is where you come in. Please, please, please help Sadcase by volunteering to organise an event. You do not need to ask permission JUST DO IT! If just 12 members can do 1 event a year, then we have 12 events to enjoy. Many trips/events/etc have been suggested. Barbecue, Go-Karting, Le Mans trip, Sadcase at the Goodwood Revival, Weekend drives, Treasure Hunt, etc and all we need is people to organise them. I recently asked for some help with a charity event for The Snowdrop Trust children's charity (see below) and had not had a single reply. Just let me know when and where your event will be and I will drum up the interest. Rant over and thanks in advance!

FACEBOOK!!! Yes we now have our very own Sadcase Facebook page. Just go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sadcase-Classic-and-Sportscar-Club/185375524829977 or go to Facebook.com and search for Sadcase. Here you can register that you like the site and receive any updates that are placed. You can also leave comments, put pictures up or just read what other members are up to. Go on give it a go!
