Sunday 18th - Classic car show, Worthing Rugby Club.

Monday 19th - Sadcase V Bognor V Carters karting challenge at the Brighton Kart Track! Robert Carter organizing says:

I have been asked by a few SADCASE members for details of a SADCASE evening karting. This may be arrangeable on August 19 (Monday) by adding to the teams from CARTERS Domestic Appliances. Harry Sherrard thinks that his motor club in Bornor Regis may be up for some competition so as long as we can muster 10 teams we can have the track to ourselves! Each team is £99 plus VAT for 4 drivers or £29.70 each. Carters may field 4 teams

Sadcase say 3  and Bognor 3 ? That makes ten for a great night out .

The event is a 90 minute endurance race with a maximum of 12 karts.

If we can fill 10 then we have the place to ourselves. Teamsport ask for drivers to arrive at 7.00pm The event will start at 7.30. Food and drink is available at a moderate cost . £6  for a standard meal. There is choice on the night. The team leader can arrange for as many pitstops as thought needed. It was suggested that a standard team comprises of 4 drivers with two sessions each but maybe that is not the winning way. Depends on how serious you wish to make it!

Friday 23rd-Sunday 25th - Carfest South. Laverstock Farm, Hampshire.

Saturday 24th - From member Mark Mason -

Mark Mason [email protected]

Following our successful first meet we are now setting the meet as a monthly meet. The next meet will be on Saturday the 24th August. Everyone has two options either meet straight at the Worthing vineyard, BN12 6PG for 4pm. Alternatively, I am arranging a cruise, which will be starting at 2.30 at Nutley. We will then be leaving there at 2.45 and will be driving back towards the vineyard. We will probably head off in two convoys depending on number of cars as I am sure the fast cars will not want to hold back for us classic cars, otherwise we can all go at once. If you want to come, please email me and I can send a map and help with directions for anyone uncertain. The Vineyard have agreed to put a BBQ on (providing weather is good) as well as drinks for when we get there. I believe they are charging 3.85 for burger or hot dog. Contact Mark for further details.

Introduction

Stansted Park and House overlook the coast on the Hampshire – West Sussex border. Stansted began as a hunting lodge in the 11th century, and has seen a succession of interesting owners and many royal and distinguished visitors over the centuries. Since 1983 the House and Estate have been owned by Stansted Park Foundation, a charitable trust charged with the preservation of the estate for the benefit of the nation.

The Run and Visit

The intention is to leave the Whiteways Cafe Car Park at 10.30 am, then travel to Stansted via a scenic country route arriving approximately at 11.30 am. After parking up there will be an opportunity to partake in a light lunch at the Pavilion Tea Room (It is suggested that groups of 13 or more pre-order from the group booking menu to ensure a smooth and efficient service during lunch).

Afterwards, you could explore the extensive grounds, visit the Stansted House Garden Centre, Farm Shop and Studio Pottery; and (weather permitting) have fun in the Stansted Maze and/or travel on the Stansted Park Light Railway.

Finally. as a special treat the historic House state rooms, Chapel, and extensive real-life servants’ quarters can be opened especially for SADCASE members provided that there is sufficient interest (minimum 15) and on payment of £8.00 per person fee for the one and half hour guided tour. If this option was to be of interest then it is essential that sufficient places are pre-booked.
